The survey results are in!
Published: 2025-11-06
We recently conducted a user survey to understand the priorities of our audience and to identify opportunities for improvement. The responses reflected a strong representation from the academic community, comprising 83% of the respondents, followed by users from healthcare (9%), infrastructure (9%), and the general public (4%).
Users shared many suggestions for features, improvements, and resources that would increase their utility of the portal. For example, respondents expressed interest in seeing a more diverse representation of pathogens. Suggestions included, for example, the inclusion of bacterial pathogens, protists, helminths, Giardia duodenalis, Candida albicans, and Aspergillus fumigatus. There were also suggestions for an expansion of information on existing topics, such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Further suggestions included adding or improving features of the portal, such as improving the appearance of visualisations on mobile devices, streamlined data submission pipelines, improved access to sensitive data, and enabling data to be searched according to, for example, given genes or pathogens.
We are incredibly grateful to all those that participated in the survey. These insights will help guide upcoming development of the Swedish Pathogens Portal. We will ensure that users are made aware of how new changes meet these requests, and the priorities of the research community. Whilst the survey period is now complete, we encourage users to contact us with feedback at any time.
