Portal Design Update - Outbreaks Section (formerly known as Emerging Pathogens)

We have redesigned and reimagined our Emerging Pathogens section as an Outbreaks section. The section will continue to show information about outbreaks impacting Sweden (including both international outbreaks, and those specific to Sweden). The layout of the pages has been changed to improve the readability, navigation, and presentation of information related to outbreaks impacting Sweden. The new format is designed to give a clearer overview of key information at a glance, whilat also making more detailed information easier to access.
Each of the pages in the section has a consistent layout. The background section provides a brief summary of the pathogen responsible for an outbreak, reoute of transmission, sources and risk factors, and seasonal patterns of infection. We also provide a brief summary of the outbreak, and a timeline of the outbreak to highlight key points. Links to data visualisations are also provided, where relevant.
This redesign will support researchers, public‑health professionals, and the general public in accessing outbreak information. It is part of ongoing efforts to improve the Swedish Pathogens Portal.
